Hotel on Phillips is a boutique style hotel located within an historic, downtown 9-story high rise commonly referred to as the Sioux Falls National Bank Building. This Sullivanesque design originally conceived by the Chicago firm Weary and Alford was constructed in 1918 and expanded in 1929. It once held the distinction of tallest building in South Dakota and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

“They’re on the cutting edge of what the current design styles are… Here we are, in South Dakota. And I feel like we walk into our hotel and we could be anywhere in New York City or Chicago.”

—Hotel on Phillips

Hotel on Phillips is designed to be in union with existing building elements and reestablish some of its character and connections that were lost through the years. Nearly 74,000 square feet of this former office building was renovated into 91 unique guest rooms, a bar/lunge, meeting rooms, business center, finess center, coffee bar, and hotel service spaces. The rehabilitation of the historic 2-story luxurious lobby features the original bank vault and historic ornamental ceilings along with incorporating new design features that speak to the past.
