Presentation Center
Sioux Falls, SD
"We do nothing alone." This is a small part of the mission of the Presentation Sisters, but they have found themselves physically separated into numerous living arrangements. Presentation Center in Sioux Falls will be a place to call home for 20 Sisters both serving the area those traveling to Sioux Falls, bringing them together into a communal living environment. The facility serves the public as well. The chapel, offices, conference room, common living and multi-purpose spaces can all be utilized for outreach ministries.
The Presentation Sisters are building not just for themselves, but for those who come after them. The building is designed for potential future use as an independent living facility. The design accommodates the needs of the elderly within their community and the needs of future occupants. As good stewards of the environment, the Sisters desired a facility that is responsibly constructed and highly energy efficient. The design team explored and incorporated options to achieve these goals. The design respects the residential feel of the adjacent homes in order to be a good neighbor. The location brings the Sisters home to the campus of the healthcare system they worked to establish over 100 years ago.
